| REUTECH Communications showcase at Defexpo 2010 |

Defexpo 2010 was the 6th Land and Naval Systems exhibition to be organised by the Department of Defence Production in the Ministry of Defence of the Government of India. This year over 650 companies, both domestic and International showcased their products. 41 official delegations, including 14 ministerial delegations from across the world were among the 50 000 industry visitors.
On display in the Reutech stall was the multiband XCR family of Software Defined Radios consisting of a Manpack Radio with vehicle adaptor option, Dedicated Vehicle Radio, Airborne Radio and Fixed Installation Radio. All these radios are fully interoperable in advanced Secure, Hopping and Data networks and include the latest in data interfaces such as USB and Bluetooth™ as well as advanced situational awareness features such as internal GPS with automatic position reporting.
The exhibition also was opportunity to display the new Battlegroup Communications System (BCS). This hierarchical but flexible system was first developed as the fire control network for the G6 field gun but has applications in any Battle Group organised around a vehicle based team such as MRAP patrols though it’s modular design and highly mobility features.
The highly competitive and demanding Indian market has embraced Reutech’s Technologically Advanced Solutions with annual production orders for the last 10 years and standing orders beyond 2012 . With this strong track record the aggressive Indian Defence Force Modernisation programme offers many opportunities and challenges which Reutech Communications is embracing with the usual innovative South African enthusiasm.
The commitment from Reutech Communications to its products is evidenced in the success of the D-Level Repair Facility established at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Avionics Division in Hyderabad. For the last 3 years this facility has been maintaining the growing fleet of Reutech products in service on various platforms in the Indian Defence Force and deployed from the freezing heights of the Siachen glacier to the scorching deserts of Rajasthan.

South African company Reutech Communications Pty Ltd has developed a new generation software defined radio called VCR2050. This transceiver has been developed to enhance vehicular communications incrementing command and control capability.
Standard features include high level encryption, fast frequency hopping, state of the art digital modulation techniques, data networking, easily
adaptable to future customizations and upgrades. GPS receiver, integrated loudspeaker, remote control and re-broadcast.
The VCR2050 is fully compatible with the MCR2005 manpack configured tactical communications system.

| South African software-defined radios enter home straight |

Reutech Communications is under contract to complete final development, including productionisation and pre-production, of a new family of fast frequency-hopping, digitally encrypted, software-defined radios (SDRs) for the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). The radios have grown out of an earlier software-defined demonstrator programme fulfilled by the then-RDI Communications company to assist in forming the specification of Project Radiate, the SANDF's network-enabled capability development programme. The Reutech group, part of the SA National Pavilion, exhibited at the DSEI show held in Excel in London’s Docklands from the 8-11th September 2009.
In particular, Reutech Communications had on display the new generation software defined radios. Being a supplier of V/UHF communication to the South African National Defence force, the new radios were designed to meet the requirements for the modernization of the Army.

Military Information and Communications Symposium of South Africa
(MICSSA) 2009 will be held at CSIR, Pretoria from the 20th – 24th July 2009. This symposium is one of the key events in South Africa as it is hosted by Armscor, SITA and CMIS (our main customer) and attracts the key role players from the defence industry. This event also provides for various delegates from Universities, R&D institutions and industry to present papers on the technological advancements relating to defence applications.
Reutech Communications is a platinum sponsor for this year, a founding patron. Platinum sponsor allows us to support one student from the SANDF Military Academy. Our student from the Military Academy is Lt. T.S. Maluleke who will also present a paper. The delegates that will attend and present at the show are Dirk van Renen and James Whitehead.

| REUTECH Communications attends LAAD 2009 |

Trade and Investment South Africa (TISA), a division of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), invited the South African defence industry to participate in its South African National Pavilion, at the 7th Latin America Aerospace & Defence (LAAD) 2009 Exhibition, in Brazil and Reutech Communications was one of the South African companies present.

This prestigious biannual event, supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Defence and leading national defence and aerospace associations, brings together Brazilian and international companies that supply equipment and services to the armed forces, special forces, and security services, as well as consultants and government agencies. The 2009 exhibition served as host to 230 delegates, from 43 countries and showcased the products and services of more than 300 global exhibitors.

In the 12 years since its first edition, LAAD has been the only defence exhibition in the region that has demonstrably enabled participants to network, do business and update their knowledge. As key military decision-makers, Official delegates from a wide range of countries engage in long-term business ventures.
