Portuguese Aerospace and Defence Update
South African company Reutech Communications Pty Ltd has developed a new generation software defined radio called VCR2050. This transceiver has been developed to enhance vehicular communications incrementing command and control capability.
Standard features include high level encryption, fast frequency hopping, state of the art digital modulation techniques, data networking, easily adaptable to future customizations and upgrades. GPS receiver, integrated loudspeaker, remote control and re-broadcast.
The VCR2050 is fully compatible with the MCR2005 manpack configured tactical communications system.

28 October 2009 :: South African software-defined radios enter home straight
Reutech Communications is under contract to complete final development, including productionisation and pre-production, of a new family of fast frequency-hopping, digitally encrypted, software-defined radios (SDRs) for the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
